Baylee and Griffith’s Steamboat Springs area, Colorado wedding was planned in only four months so they could take advantage of the beautiful fall weather at a private ranch. Every detail was DIY, from the ceremony site to the cocktail bar in a horse trailer. Griffith is a fly fishing guide, so he incorporated fishing with his groomsmen before the ceremony, as well as unique boutonnieres of oversized fishing flies. Baylee was a stunning bride that opted for a lace dress and non-traditional bouquets for her boho bridal party. They exchanged private vows at sunset after the ceremony before heading up to the barn and having their first dance and reception.

Here’s some info from the gorgeous Baylee herself:

“Griffith and I have known each other for quite some time now. We met in the sixth grade at our middle school in Dallas, Tx. A few months into the school year he asked me to be his “girlfriend”. We would text mostly because talking to each other in person was too nerve wracking for a 12 year old! One night he asked me to go to the White Rock Skating Rink with him and his friends. While we were at the rink, we experienced some major peer pressure to have our first kiss. We both had our first kiss and to this day it’s still one of the funniest stories we have. A month later we broke up due to him moving middle schools. When high school came around we weren’t very close friends but still friendly. We had mutual friends but were in different friend groups.

Fast forward to college, Griffith lived in Colorado while I was living in Arkansas. Three years ago on our Christmas break we both got invited to a New Years party by a mutual friend. At the party we reconnected and we have been together ever since!

About a year and a half later I graduated college and moved to Austin, Tx (Griffith moved from Denver, CO to Austin soon after that New Years party). When I moved to Austin we knew that we wanted to get married eventually but needed to wait for the right time. In March of 2019, we decided to go look at rings because we knew the time was coming soon for Griff to propose! We picked out the most beautiful ring and it was so special for us to find it together.

A few months later in June we found a house that we fell in love with and moved in.  The day after moving in he took me to his family’s ranch outside of Austin. It felt like a normal Sunday, casually taking our puppy to the river to swim. Griffith tied my ring to our dog’s toy and threw it in the river for him to fetch (yes this was extremely scary but he used 60 pound fishing line to tie it). When my dog, Koda, fetched the toy back I grabbed it from his mouth. Right when I was about to throw it again, Griffith took it from my hand and got down on one knee to propose! It was the most amazing day! We decided that in 4 months we wanted to get married at my family’s ranch outside of Steamboat, CO. Then we had the best day of our lives on September 21, 2019!!”
